Modul8 designs, develops, and deploys advanced communications and compute solutions – leveraging proven telecom technologies to power the digital backbone of space operations

50+ Years of Telecom Innovation Are Missing in Space

Since the first lunar landing in 1969, space missions have relied largely on mission-specific UHF and VHF radio systems—designed primarily for voice, with extremely limited data rates and non-realtime imagery. Even today, surface communications typically deliver only kilobits per second locally and a few megabits per second back to Earth.

Modern missions demand far more. Astronauts, robots, vehicles, habitats, and sensors require hundreds of megabits per second on the lunar surface and tens of gigabits per second to Earth. Broadband connectivity is essential to enable sustained human presence on the Moon—supporting autonomous robotics, construction, mining, power systems, and continuous operations, all enhanced by high definition video, real time data, and situational awareness.
